Welcome to the new "Artist's Circle Of Hell" editorial: a journey through the eyes and thoughts of magnificent Dark Artists.
Today we are delightful to talk with Kaila Gee... We'll be honoured to show her outstanding art for the upcoming "Centuries Decay" exhibition, from September 9 to October 7, 2019. Kaila Gee was born and raised in Sacramento, CA. She studied illustration in Boston, and stayed in the northeast exploring various mediums and approaches to her work.
After experiencing the satisfaction of creating art as object around 2017, she began to focus her work on sculpting in various mediums with dolls as her main subject. She currently lives and works in New Orleans, LA. Enjoy the interview!

First circle - Limbo
How old is your soul? Do you have an inner child?
My soul feels quite old, but theres always a strange little child hiding at it’s core.
Second circle - Lust
Before you have reached your artistic path, have you ever instinctively tried different fields that did not appeal to you, just for the sake of it? Are you still in search for your art style?
My passion has always been in the arts, but i’ve taken many paths within the artistic realm. I don’t think I’m searching for my style as much as I’m pushing my own boundaries to find what feels right.
Third circle - Gluttony
How hungry are you for the art, for your passion? How much are you addicted and addicted to it, moving away from your perception of reality?
I’m very addicted to my work, but I’m also too grounded in reality to let it carry me away (sadly).
Fourth circle - Greed
Sometimes, do you feel greedy with your job? Do you think that a strong attachment to money can compromise your art? No intention to offend, but only to explore what goes beyond being a "starving artist".
Financial stability is important, so I don’t think asking for the appropriate compensation for artwork is greedy. I do, however, believe artwork should be accessible, so I don’t think I’ll ever price my work out of the range of what’s reasonable.

Fifth circle - Anger
How you see the Art World today? There are some stuff that make you uncomfortable?
To me, the art world in general is a just like any other industry: It’s run by politics and what sells. The important thing to keep in mind is your values as an individual, and play by those rules first.
Sixth circle - Heresy
Have you ever done a project or commission totally different from your kind of art? (for example, as fairy art, erotic art, fantasy art or comic art)
Many years ago I used to agree to draw work for others that didn’t fit my style, but those days are long gone. I learned to stand my ground!
Seventh circle - Violence
Are you afraid to represent cruel stuff of the reality in your art? If not, it goes beyond the simple visual impact?
I’m not afraid to express a brutal reality in my work, as long as there’s a reason for it.
Eighth circle - Fraud
Without naming, have you ever been deceived by a false customer or company? What was your initial feeling? Do you want to give some advice to those who are new in this field? Don't worry if you do not want to answer.
Not yet, luckily!
Ninth circle - Treachery
Would you ever exchange your life as artist with a safer and quieter life? What would you do if you could not make art?
I wouldn’t exchange my life as an artist for anything else, because if there was something I’d rather be doing i’d just do it! If I couldn’t make art anymore though, I’d probably work in a yarn shop and knit and spin wool for the rest of my days.
