Welcome to the new "Artist's Circle Of Hell" editorial: a journey through the eyes and thoughts of magnificent Dark Artists. The first round is up to Horror Party, an old acquaintance of the Memento Tea Collective, which was guest in "Tea Time With Dolls" auction... And soon, you will see her again! Horror Party is a talented dollmaker, from Northern Italy, specialized in creating lovely demon in ceramic. Her creatures are completely handmade and OOAK (One Of A Kind). She actively participates in conventions dedicated to the world of dolls and comics (bringing a dark wave in the event).
Enjoy our first interview!

First circle - Limbo
How old is your soul? Do you have an inner child?
"Sold my soul to Rock'n'Roll" just to start with a quote! I'm 36, I'm not sure about my inner child, but I definitely have an army of porcelain horror kids.
Second circle - Lust
Before you have reached your artistic path, have you ever instinctively tried different fields that did not appeal to you, just for the sake of it? Are you still in search for your art style?
Sure I did. Actually, I'm always searching for new stuff and trying new techniques that might help me to improving myself.
Third circle - Gluttony
How hungry are you for the art, for your passion? How much are you addicted and addicted to it, moving away from your perception of reality?
It's like constantly fighting against eating disorders: eating too much, or not eating at all. This is exactly how I relate with my hunger for art.

Fourth circle - Greed
Sometimes, do you feel greedy with your job? Do you think that a strong attachment to money can compromise your art? No intention to offend, but only to explore what goes beyond being a "starving artist".
At all, I just give my work the right value. In my opinion, my dolls have to be affordable to anyone (this is why I accept payment plans or I keep some dolls reserved for a few days, sometimes I sell them at lowered price as well - if I need some room in my lab for instance), but they're still handmade one of a kind collectors' pieces, so there's no way I'm going to depreciate my work as a regular basis just to sell more. And, as I said above, this does not mean I'm being greedy.
Fifth circle - Anger
How you see the Art World today? There are some stuff that make you uncomfortable?
"Art World" is such a wide concept to define, I don't know how to properly reply without digressing. The first thing that pops in my mind which makes me feel terribly uncomfortable is art involving living animals.
Sixth circle - Heresy
Have you ever done a project or commission totally different from your kind of art? (for example, as fairy art, erotic art, fantasy art or comic art)
Not really. I actually make fairies as well, they're kinda gory though!
Seventh circle - Violence
Are you afraid to represent cruel stuff of the reality in your art? If not, it goes beyond the simple visual impact?
I never represent reality in my art. My dolls are my Demons, that's it.

Eighth circle - Fraud
Without naming, have you ever been deceived by a false customer or company? What was your initial feeling? Do you want to give some advice to those who are new in this field? Don't worry if you do not want to answer.
Sort of. I had a doll commissioned by a customer who vanished and didn't pay nor collected the doll (of course). After that, for commissioned pieces, I just started to ask half the price of the doll at the moment of the order. I never ever had any other problem since then.
Ninth circle - Treachery
Would you ever exchange your life as artist with a safer and quieter life? What would you do if you could not make art?
I'm not a full-time artist and my official job is not safe nor quiet, so… (alright guys, don't think I'm a sort of a she-Rambo, it's just a manic-kind of job). Honestly, I don't know what I'd do without my art: it's my cure and I love it to bits!
